  1. If it is not possible to apply online during the designated period, applicants may submit their application materials via post or in person. Only accepted if the documents arrive well before the deadline. In such case, please make sure to include the application fee with your application packet.

Eligible Applicants

Master's Degree Program

International applicants
  • Holds a Bachelor's degree, or is considered by the admission committee to have an acceptable intellectual competence at the level of someone holding an equivalent or higher degree
  • Not a citizen of Korea
  • Parents are not citizens of Korea
Applicants of Korean origin
  • Received entire elementary, junior high, high school, and undergraduate education outside of Korea at the comparable and equivalent level of those provided in Korea
  • Holds a Bachelor's degree, or is considered by the admission committee to have an acceptable intellectual competence at the level of someone holding an equivalent or higher degree.

Doctoral Degree Program

International applicants
  • Holds a Master's degree, or is considered by the admission committee to have an acceptable intellectual competence at the level of someone holding an equivalent or higher degree

Submission

  1. Online procedure (The application fee should be paid online as well.)
    • Find a NOTICE concerning "International Admission" on (http://en.snu.ac.kr)
    • Open the on-line application program
    • Create your own account
    • According to the instruction, type in all the required information for each step of on-line application.
  2. Offline procedure
    • With all the required documents, mail to Office of Admissions Seoul National University, 1, Gwanak-ro, Gwanak-gu, Seoul 151-742, Korea

Graduate Scholarship for Excellent Foreign Students

Academic achievements and potential, as well as their personal accomplishments are all taken into consideration.

NIPA Global IT scholarship (CSEE ONLY)

  • 2 years of master degree tuition
  • Living expenses
  • Internship during summer/winter vacations (150,000 per month)

Samsung Global Scholarship Program at SNU

Selected international students are sponsored for a 2-year master's program at SNU school of EECE with the following scholarship package:
  • Tuition (including entrance and enrollment fees)
  • On-campus housing
  • Medical insurance
  • Living expenses (\800,000 or US$750 per month)
  • Two round-trip airplane tickets to his or her home country (tickets are provided once a year)
  • Internship at SEC during summer/winter vacations
Conditions of the Program
  • Upon completion of studies at EECE, the scholarship recipient is required to work at SEC (in Korea) for 2 years in an appointment related to his or her major.
  • After 2 years of employment at SEC, he or she may continue to work at SEC Korea or return to his or her home country to work for a local subsidiary of SEC, upon mutual agreement between him or her and SEC.
Eligibility
  • The applicant's academic achievement should be superior; he or she must place in the top 30% of his/her class at a prestigious university in his or her home country.
  • The applicant should be able to work at SEC in Korea for 2 years after completion of his/her studies at SNU.
  • The applicant's major must be in the field of Electrical, Electronics, Communication, or Computer Engineering; Science; Physics; or Mathematics.

Korean Government Scholarship

  • Academic grades from the last educational institute attended must be within the top 20%
  • applicants must possess a good command of Korean or English
  • The scholarship covers the cost of airfare, living expenses, tuition fees, a research allowance, language training expenses and medical insurance.
