This course aims at providing senior level students with basic introduction to linear and non―linear computation models including selected topics from linear algebra, linear programming, and non―linear optimization. In this course, many examples from computer science and engineering will be discussed. Through these practical examples, the students can understand the usefulness of linear and non―linear models in solving various problems encountered in developing computer application softwares. Students are expected to be familiar with basic computer science and engineering and they have basic knowledge on how to program using C, C++, etc. In addition to lectures, they will carry out various programming assignments.
