Cambridge 대학출판사 본사에서 Publisher가 방문하여 서울대학교 교수님들께서 어떻게  저서 및 저널을 준비하여 저희 출판사에 보내주시는 것이 좋은지에 대한 자세한 내용을 설명해 드리고자 workshop을 마련하였으며, 이에 초빙하고자 합니다.

Getting your Book or Paper published by International Publishers

Publishing is a critical part of research, a critical part of your job. It tells your one’s colleagues what one has been doing. Through peer review, it is validated research that helps to advance your discipline. Publishing helps to justify what you do, to gain recognition for you, your team and your work. Publishing helps to advance your career.

Publishing is competitive. To get published in leading international journals or by leading international publishers, you have to be beat the competition. To do this it is important to have a good knowledge of how the publishing process operates, from submission of a paper or book proposal, through peer review, production, publication, and beyond.

This presentation will outline the various stages of journal and book publishing, provide an insight into the modern publishing landscape (including open access and new publishing models) and give practical advice on the preparation and submission of journal articles and book proposals.

Speaker’s Biography:

 

Roger Astley is a Publisher at Cambridge University Press. He has over 25 years of experience in mathematics publishing in both books and journals. During his time at Cambridge (based in New York and Cambridge UK) he has been responsible for the publication of nearly 1000 new books, and been involved in the establishment of a dozen journals. He has handled publishing relations with leading international organisations and has hands-on knowledge of all aspects of book and journal publishing ranging from peer review and production, through financial modelling, to print and online publication.
