본 발표에서는 최근 이동통신 네트워크의 진화 및 소프트웨어화에 대한 고찰을 통해 성공적인 6G 소프트웨어화 도입을 위한 당면한 과제들과 최근 AI/ML/LLM/Agentic AI 기술들이 6G 소프트웨어화 및 지능화에 어떻게 적용될 수 있는지를 살펴본다.

I joined Bell Labs, Alcatel-Lucent as MTS (Member of Technical Staff) in 2010 and currently leading “Mobile Network Systems” department in NSSR (Network Systems and Security Research) at Bell Labs Core Research, Murray Hill, USA, and DMTS (Distinguished MTS). In the past, I have technically directed Bell Labs Seoul in South Korea (acting Director) and led “Network System and Service” department in NAPS (Network Algorithm, Protocol, and Security) Research program in Bell Labs. My research focus is on end-to-end network orchestration & automation, network control cross domains, carrier-grade cloud-native, SDN/NFV/5G/6G, edge/fog computing & networking, and Internet of Things (IoT). Before joining Bell Labs, I was a post-doctoral fellow in School of Computer Science and Engineering, Seoul National Univ., Seoul, South Korea.
